New variable length head studs installed
(Got threaded rod from the parts store and eyeballed it to length with an angle grinder)

And of course I forgot to get proper M8 nuts for it. Have tons of 8.8 hardness nuts, but they start to strip at around 25nm even though they should be rated for 27nm.
