Why are you acting like it's so mysterious. Human beings are sexual. Children are human beings, so they are sexual. Given the opportunity, they express their sexuality.
Does that mean they should be running a cam show from the age of 10 for complete strangers, with no knowledge of how to keep themselves safe, when really dangerous people or the cops are really to jump in and ruin their lives? Probably not.
But could we get to the point where we accept basic human nature and work with it, instead of living in a fantasy world where it's completely incomprehensible that children express themselves sexually?
And could we accept that not all of these expressions are dangerous or any weirder than what adults get up to? Can we let kids have a space of exploration and representation, rather than just beat them back into the Cave of Innocence?
The gap between official discourse around what kids are and what kids actually do given the opportunity couldn't be wider when it comes to sexuality. But it's all blamed on pedophiles, who apparently groom them, which is probably 1% of the truth, and 99% a lie.
