In general I respect devs who accept that if someone is stubborn or greedy enough they will pirate their shit anyways, so might aswell be a good sport about it.
I think the Darkwood devs made an "official" torrent download link for their game, because they said, they prefer people who can't/don't want to afford their game at full price should rather pirate it than getting it off keysites. Since in both cases the devs get fucked over but at least if you pirate it you don't give money to scummy resellers and there's a chance you igh give the devs money at a later stage if you liked the game enough and you should, it's a great game
Also I think and there is some controversy about it the factorio devs are pretty chill about pirating, though in return they have made it clear that their game will never be on sale and you do need an official copy for mods and multiplayer to work.
