When I played Fallout New Vegas I didn't want to torture my character, I wanted to walk arround the scenery, see characters and their stories, engage with mechanics like shooting, bartering, crafting...
In deltarune I wanted characters talking to each other, cool music and dodging stuff
Toby is just seething about people making Patrick into evil Sans just because they wanted to hear a remix of Industrial Park from SpongeBob battle of bikini bottom remixed with sans' theme. So he goes all like

And then bloats deltarune with meaningless non relatable unfunny soul plot line
Undertale being meta was unique then. Now that being meta is the norm, deltarune is dime and dozen.
