Berserk ended when Miura died.
I use to be of the mind that Mori's continuation was good enough, and I was satisfied to simply get an ending to the series overall, but recent chapters have changed my mind. Mori has absolutely no fucking idea what he's doing.
I just finished re-reading the series today, from chapter 1 all the way up to the most recent chapter. The quality of the writing and art drops off a fucking cliff with lead weights tied around its ankles. It's horrendous. The way he just destroys Skellig and makes all the creatures on it disappear makes no sense, and I know he only did that because he knew they wouldn't all fit on the boat, but what's really crazy is how he killed the mermaids, including Isma. This made no fucking sense. Isma is half human and didn't even live on the fucking island, and neither did the other mermaids.
Puck and Ivalera didn't disappear because they weren't connected to the island, but Isma does? That makes no sense.
And then they get captured by Kushan mere hours after the island sinks. How the fuck is that possible? did they somehow teleport the entire ship into Kushan waters by accident?
Mori isn't just dragging the series through the mud, he's spitting on Miura's grave while doing it. Miura would NOT want to see his series end like this, and I'm pretty sure all his assistants stopped working on the series as well, because the current art style looks NOTHING like the first two chapters after Miura died.
Just look at this abysmal dogshit.
