Hot take but I don't see the problem.
I am white and grew up in the UK on free school meals (only people from poor families get this) and got all A* at A-level which is equivalent to 1550 on SAT. I didn't realise at the time but looking back it was so, so much harder to do well under those conditions it was just a completely different game.
Sure Chang gets discriminated when he applies to college, but the average level of parenting Chang receives is on a different planet which more than makes up for it and if they are simply looking to select the brightest most capable people the average black with 1500 SAT will be much brighter than average asian with 1500 SAT.
The only problem is that in reality there will be Asians who have shit upbringings who get utterly fucked over and blacks who have good upbringings who are classified as disadvantaged. But this is rare and in general affirmative action will get more capable students though imo should be based on stuff like parents income, parents education, the school you go to and red flags like social services or care involvement.
