Working backwards, since Atzilut is across the abyss, it seems to say that once the Keter of Yetzirah is reached, you touch Malkuth of Atzilut, and therefore must have crossed the abyss in some sense. The first path to cross from Briah to Atzilut in the typical arrangement on the tree is 18, from Geburah to Binah. But if Keter of a lower world corresponds to Tiferet of a higher world, wouldn't it make more sense for the first path to cross the abyss to originate from Tifieret (on the typical tree)?
