They won't NOT remake Pocahontas because of "historical inaccuracies" or "cultural insensitivity," but because of the elements that ARE factually correct. Reminder that the movie literally opens up with her tribe celebrating their defeat of a neighboring tribe. This was EXTREMELY common during this time period, and Native Americans traded with the white man for guns specifically to get a leg up on their foes. This is the kind of harsh truth that historians don't like to bring up: that the supposed peaceful natives could be fucking monsters when it came to driving away those who encroached on the land they claimed ownership of.
