Started off fun, but fizzled out after episode 7. There is just so many times you can recycle the same plot point every episode.

You can watch episode 1 and episode 12 and not miss anything relevant to the plot. Everything between those two felt like one big pointless filler. Watanabe tried to pull another Samurai Champloo, but forgot that SC worked cause it was about the journey, not the Sunflower guy.

Massive trainwreck, as expected from the likes of Anno and Tsurumaki. Interesting premise and original cast abandoned by the wayside for nostalgiafaggotry and space-magic bullshitery.
