AL's shtick usually happens just at the start of the fight when they reveal just how much they infiltrated ahead of time. Once that initial shock is over they just steamroll whoever they fight or lure them into a fight where they have the advantage with obvious bait.
The first battle of Paramar was like that, their attempt to kill off the White Scars was like that. On Cthonia where they were there basically for too long they had no advantage and weren't much more useful than foot soldiers.
