M
Reiner from Attack on Titan and Jaime Lannister from ASOIAF
Weird choices maybe, but they're my favorite characters because they're men forced into living awful lives by their families and yearn to escape the downward spiral they didn't put themselves in, but prolonged by their own wills.
Both did heinous shit in their youth and are spending every day trying to cope and make up for it. Both end up in a circumstance of mentorship and handle it entirely differently. Reiner encourages while Jaime discourages.
Jaime's the blackpilled/disenchanted knight trying to stop Brienne from falling for the "lies of chivalry" that he's fallen out with, while Brienne is trying to revert him and show that good can still exist in the world, which is the biggest thing the fucking show forgets- that there are whitepilled characters and it isn't just endless nihilism.
