So now I listened to my playlist of songs I know by heart. All of them sounded wrong. Not bad per se, but different. Something is missing, I feel like I'm listening to something that plays really loud in a different room -- you can hear almost everything, but not all.
Especially noticeably on Your Life is a Lie. Usually it's a wild mosaic of different random sounds layered and strewn around, with YD30 it just vocals, drums and a lone high-hat from time to time.
But I want to stress that it sounds nowhere near close to the "horrible" you would expect from a $2 set. Except for jungle. Burial sounds like shit.
I will keep them for the watching videos/listening podcasts in bed duties.
