Walk 2 km and you might as well be in the wilderness. Everyone is so fat and lazy on the east coast. Even in the park they're drive across the grass and plop down in a chair right next to their car lol. Motorbike riders never walk more than ten meters from their bikes. The cooks never wash their cookware. I'm getting tired of black burnt crumbs in every meal I order.

Cukai was worth two nights and Kerteh just one, but I got it reversed. Kerteh's beach park is much closer to town, while Kerteh is hemmed in by rivers. But Cukai is a soulful worn-out city, while Kerteh is a boring sterile sprawlville of new construction. My $20 room has a squat toilet and no sink, no chair, no desk or table. Northeast Malaysia...beautiful nature and bullshit rooms.

There's a new minibus route running along this stretch of coast that none of the locals even know about. They all tell me there's no bus lol. Joke's on them, because I ran across the driver and he gave me the inside info. Travel tip: Never ask NPCs for travel information or assistance unless it's directly related to their work. NPCs all failed geography class and don't know shit.
