>lifeless hallway world interrupted only with very tedious puzzles
>boring combat with a summon that takes away all the strategy for every superboss
>200 hour pointless grind to finish the sphere grid
>the worst side quests ever designed for a JRPG. Seriously someone looked at the lightning bolt and chocobo racing quests and said "yes this is fun, put it in the fame"

This game somehow gets remembered fondly because of unbelievable levels of rose-tinted nostalgia. Everyone just remembers the jump to PS2 fondly and this gets lumped in, but the game is a piece of shit and fuck anyone who likes it.
