it's crazy that you can think of 3d space as three sets of 2d space because that also means that you can think of 4d space as 6 sets of 2d space and 5d as 10 sets which means any rotation is reducible to these basis ie a matrix which is just the product of n(n-1)/2 2d rotations that is rotations in n(n-1)/2 orthonormal planes but i have to admit trying to rotate other than arbitrarily in more than three at once is hard
