I abstain from reading the bible because the primary motivation for doing so is fear of the unknown. This fear exists in all creatures and is the fulcrum by which men have manipulated eachother by simply filling the void with literally any explanation. I disdain cowardice and have no incentive to seek such answers. It is a foolish god that relies on the good will of men to disseminate the secrets of reality, and much ugliness has been done in his name. Anyone looking in from the outside can easily see that yahweh is a capricious, jealous and cruel creature, whose boasts delineate a being with no need for these traits, assuming they're true. A noble man would never bow to such filth.
