I remember lads (me included) would actively travel to races where the likes of Askey was racing just to race him lmao. 3hr drive each way, good times. But the races where the olympic riders showed up no one gave a fuck, I can't even name one that I remember who made it big, though I don't follow track. A lot of the strong riders from my age generation went to europe bar maybe Vernon obviously who's a better trackie. Knight, Askey, Healy, Fred Wright I think too. Not sure if Ben Turner did track but I know he was involved a lot in the national team because he was blisteringly quick. Pidcock just won everything. Same with Askey, NC's would be collected by each of them because they were never in the same age group.

Regret not racing in belgium with my friend, he raced Remco a few times in some nationals. Good times.

That would be really great to see. It's uncertain Jim will keep ineos as a sponsor for years to come so maybe Britian will have no WT team or sponsors. I think Ineos getting a clear out is good. Thomas retiring is brilliant, a whole new eco-system seems to be needed. New exciting riders. Carlito is a major disappointment, Arensman seems to be a liablity too. Bernal is just a C tier rider in this current peloton.

This roster is shite, 6 british riders, one retiring and one should retire. No national identity from any nation. Mix match all various nations I think is catastrophe for teams. They'll have more french which will be interesting. Need to really angle for the French + Anglo alliance here.
