It will be exact same story as with Bioware. After their own equivalents of Mass Effect 1,2 and Dragon Age 1 Owlcat will stop respecting cRPG roots and loose the sight of what their fans want. They've plainly stated that future is with voiced and acted out RPGs. If Expanse is a successful action RPG, it'll cement their views. Similar things happened to Bethesda after Oblivion and Fallout 3 success.
