Do you mean AoV or 3DS? Because I don't really see it in the former outside of some of the basic actions and the executions visually being similar to 2002's. 3DS felt like it took ideas from every prior Shinobi in some capacity, even the weird Saturn one's guarding.

Shadow of the Ninja Reborn, anon, not The Ninja Warriors Once Again. Same team, different genre. It's better than Ragebound and AoV's demo easily, and I like all three.
