The funny thing is that I had an easier time getting HDR to work on Monster Hunter Wilds on Linux than I did on Windows, and SDR conversion is better than on Windows 10.

I ended up buying a MiniLED with only 336 dimming zones, and honestly, it's a pretty good experience for an entry-level HDR monitor. It DOES suffer with blooming on certain kinds of content, particular really dark scenes with the occasional blob of light (like Voices of the Void, where the streetlights can cause very noticeable blooming).
I do intend on upgrading if QDEL ever becomes commercially viable or they can get a MiniLED with sufficiently dense backlight array.
