Wait, I thought Lechter and the Ironbloods were all in with Osborne since CS3 since they knew he was basically pulling a Lelouch. Reverie mostly expands upon Osborne telling Lechter to find his place in the world alongside him. IIRC him and Claire are basically suicidal, and Rufus is a nihilist without purpose, and he takes advantage of those insecurities to make them do his bidding, but deep down he actually does care for them or something.
I mean, we don't really need an exposition from the Ironbloods and why they follow Osborne - we had 4 games to get them and never got them til Reverie, but it was understood they got what Osborne wanted to do.
Plus, we do see Claire get recruited by Osborne in 3, and Lechter's recruitment pretty much mirrors hers exactly.
