Anon, the way she reminisces, she hasn't seen him in years. Sonic Adventure takes place after a timeskip where Sonic's been on a journey by himself (he even says so in an optional ingame recap). Amy hasn't been chasing him in that time and has settled down in a mundane life up until Eggman makes his presence known in her city. She's a bit out of shape at the time of SA1.
