Cyclonus and Galvatron's relationship in G1 was peak. The best. The mental health clinic episode is what got me to see it. Cyclonus was loyal and attentive even before he knew he was fucked in the head. I prefer pairings that make for great fanfiction. So while I can like the biggest in the fandom (opmeg) it matters more to read fanwork instead of just seeing the art.

Not only problematic but they aren't 'pretty' I am 100% sure the only reason some pairings even get attention is because they're the most humanoid or share familiar physical traits westerners can identify. The more like two gay twinks (or women without being women) they can resemble, the higher the chance of discussion.

Cygate is the epitome of this. I hate their look, their dynamic, and how bland and boring they are even in the comics. Strong, tall seme/ girly uke hasn't interested me since I was 14. But they dominate the western fanart.

Not to say there's anything wrong with liking pairings for being attractive. As a KOSS and wavewave enjoyer, I get it. But it's the safety (or the lack of accepting anything outside) that makes the western fandom so frustrating to engage with. Try talking about Starscream without Jetfire, KO without Breakdown (even though their relationship was in IDW exclusively), or Prowl without Jazz. All safe, all conventionally attractive, and all boring as hell
