Pixar's decline wasn't caused by a series of individual failures from the company. It's symptomatic of the sun setting on the era of the animation industry being the refuge of the creatively inclined artist, rising now to an industry full of mentally stunned adults who only love the craft of animation because they were too childish to outgrow Disney Channel and seek to stay in a consistent state of terminal adolescence. The previous folk of animators cared for not just animation but literature, live film, and genuine animation history and not just "what they grew up with." They no longer put forward genuine weighted ideas in their films; it's no longer an industry for adults to express ideas to children. How Toy Story portrayed growing up was clearly a story written by adults and parents reflecting on growing out of childhood and their own children; the same was the inspiration for Inside Out. They also understood animation and design on a deeper level as a medium, everyone has compared the character designs of the Incredibles to the ''bean mouth'' of Elio It's now a cuddly space for the mentally stunned to try to surround themselves with the ethos of their youth and reflect on endlessly on high school or sexuality, not to put forward ideas, creativity, and subtext but simply to reminisce and complain (millennials only genuine hardships and sense of life experience ). Soul was their last good film
