It's a luck based game. The problem isn't that the CPUs are "good" or the players are "bad" (for the most part), it's that 2nd place CPUs pull 6 red shells while the 1st place player always gets 1 coin and only 1 defensive item. And then when they're in 2nd place, the player only pulls shit like hammers and super horns when the 1st place CPU is too far away for those to do anything.
