I know Toby has a hard on for this idea he has for some crazy ending and is in love with this game he's making, and the game is cool so far, but I genuinely could not give less of a shit because I played UNDERTALE first and that's the game that really captured me. DR is supposed to be a "parallel story" or some shit, but I haven't really seen anything in the game to warrant that title. You could probably rip out all the UT characters and have the entire game be a separate entity. The only reason he didn't do that is that since it's not really UNDERTALE 2 no one would care.

that said Kris clearly doesn't need us to create a fountain, but I think the red soul is "the most potent" the thing with the most raw driving force that makes "main characters" and I think thats more important than the idea that other soul colors mean or dont mean anything. the game only exists in a sense when we are around, yes the world has history without us but the camera is always on us and if we weren't around the story wouldn't progress even if the story right now is one we dont have any free will over, it still would not move. that idea of the red soul being the big "driving force" toby always alludes to in his stuff makes sense I think when you take tobys non meta way of approaching meta ideas.

Based off some earlier discussion, I can't grasp the idea of something too massive being in the bunker. If the characters are supposed to break at certain points, something like pic related would just be too far for Kris. Like, the twists CAN'T be too drastic unless something accommodates it. I.e, the "Kris was from a land of humans that got trapped into the bunker for experiments," or whatever.
Then that makes me a little worried, if people are hyping up the bunker as some super fucked thing and it isn't literally pic related or worse, they'll be disappointed. So, realistically, how do things move forward?

A lot of people have pointed out that Noelle is a parallel to the type of player who hunts down secrets in the game, so she's the type who play the weird route just for fun.
Susie is a parallel to the type of player who just goes through the game casually, but becomes more attached to the characters over time. Basically, the normalfag part of the audience.
Ralsei is a parallel to the hyper-autistic player who will replay the game over and over to find a happier ending. Both Ralsei and the player have no tangible attachments to the world at the start of the game, yet their existence is inextricably tied to saving the world. Both Ralsei and the player have meta-knowledge the other characters don't, but are still utterly powerless against the forces of the narrative. This is why Ralsei doesn't stop you from doing the weird route even though he's afraid of the outcome. He also wants to see what would happen, if there's even a slight chance of things working out.

There are two types of DETERMINATION:
If you are determined not to kill anyone, that determination will grow into immortality - Frisk will become unkillable. Even Asriel, using all the power of the monsters' souls, could not kill him.
If you are determined to kill everyone, that determination transforms into dark one. It will give Chara the power to destroy the entire world with a single blow, but it will not make him immortal.
These two types of determination are mutually exclusive, which is why you are immortal in the battle with Asriel, but you die frequently in the battle with Sans. Of course, from a game design point of view, you are mortal in genocide simply to force you out of the game, but from a symbolic point of view, these two routes symbolize โKill or be killedโ and โDon't kill and don't be killed.โ
