It's actually called SHADING, where they paint the recessed/shadowed areas in a darker color. There's probably silver there too, to make the edges look BRIGHTER than the gold painted parts.

What Joytoy does is that they glanced at Games Workshop color guides for the Space Marines and thought the 5-10 colors that is listed is too much and used the base colors only.
So no bright gold metallic paint for them (that would make sense if you only have the budget for a single color), because Joytoy is too cheap and doesn't actually understand what gold is supposed to look like.

Joytoy has no understanding of how color guides work, because they literally do not give a shit, hence a children's toy company like Hasbro making budget children toys with more accurate gold paint than the $150 adult collector toys Joytoy is trying to sell to a dying fanbase.

I mean, shit, I actually give Joytoy a pass on their normal space marines not using gold, because maybe their shit is just dingly. But for the god-like warlords who have a thousand servants who maintain their personal equipment? That's as fucked up as defending a company cheaping out on a $150 figure that's only 8" tall.
