Seeing her in that picture and the wikipedia one, I can honestly sort of see why Jillian would deteriorate her personal character into looking like Marsha, especially given the art style. But yeah it's also certain she's self-inserting into multiple characters. I mean it's natural to write yourself into multiple characters in your own story. It's just in this case, they're pretty much all consistently negative traits and everyone accepting you for being negative.
Tbh the only other thing this comic has beyond these strips is the typical millennial interactions and existentialism humor about how hard it is to exist, how weird it is to exist, and how much we do and don't exist. So if that sort of generic "deep" stuff isn't for you there's just plain nothing fun about this comic. You see a couple internet artists make shit like this you've seen all of it. I don't know what it is about growing up in California and pursuing art that the vast majority of them just feel the need to draw these things over and over. I'm not saying some of it can't be neat and there's no room for it to exist but it also got tiring with Adventure Time getting up its own ass, and then seeing SU do a lot of it and a lot of the crew on those shows' personal doodles and stuff about emotional metaphors and shit about life just gets old.
