Seems like I did not have to travel far to meet a fellow King, you were chilling in /pmg/ all along! I'm doing a glitchy void run of Pearl next, then a regular 100% SS run! It's unfortunate how Gen 2 falls apart so hard at Kanto, however the spritework and music is what keeps me coming back.
