in general, yes
however the spark ( if it is present in the individual entity in the first place) will always persist.
stagnation of population size is not a bad thing, (true)unlimited growth is. i'm convinced that resource allocation and logistics will profit greatly and with increase of efficiency, translated to abundance and availability of resources comes the acceleration in population growth.
in the end there is a equation that will determine what is energy efficient, taking into account limited resources, not so much renewable ones.
what i see as difficult but not impossible will be the transitioning phase, population keeping up with the acceeleration in technological advancement. acceptance and adjustment to the possibilities enabled by technological advancement as well as changed requirements for example the evolution of "work", or "learning"; learning with a personal mentor freely studying and having every question answered without exhaustion, in the end requiring the student to write an essay about the topic of the lesson where the studend does not have 'support' in order to determine the progress and actual wanted knowledge instead of forced memorization for example. same goes for undesitable vacancies, why make humans suffer work this if there could be machines doing it ?
