it's so frustrating that there is no way to demonstrate, to Lego, the problems keeping me from buying. other than um... not buying.

would I buy a Lego Zelda set? absolutely. for $300? absolutely NOT. so I don't.

but the sales data they look at CAN'T show that, can it? they simply see X profits, and it's successful, and they conclude that there is no reason to make less expensive sets.

there's simply no sales model to show how well a $50 Zelda set would sell, because they didn't do it. and Lego won't try because it would clearly cut into the sales numbers of the $300 set (which probably wouldn't sell AT ALL if there was a $50 option, of course!)

it might even be impossible at this point. if all of a sudden, nobody bought Lego (due to expensive price) the company would implode before they figured out it was due to high prices and there would be no time to try to sell less-expensive sets.

I guess what I'm saying is that those expensive, small, Star Wars sets are still selling, so there is no reason for Lego to lower the prices or increase the value. and not-buying in protest... doesn't seem to affect Lego at all.
