nah its a high density west point cotton twill. very high end fabric. as good as khakis can get.
proper cotton chinos have wrinkles. you are used to low quality "permanent press" khakis that are made of plastic, coated in formeldahyde to make them stop from wrinkling and have a disgusting plastic sheen as a result. you can tell right away how much higher quality these are in person. a jpeg can't convey a lot.

yes. that is called a "straight fit" and its from the 1940's. generally the 40's and 50's are considered the most timeless era of menswear. its the most unremarkable and timeless cut of pants. if you asked most people on earth what "pants" look like they would draw something resembling this.
i'm the same age as you, probably older. you're stuck in a mentality where you started learning about fashion during the super skinny hedi slimane era of the trend cycle and you don't know what normal clothes look like. this is normal for millenials and its kinda why we get mocked so hard.
