This may be legitimately dropped. Early speculation was that the crater left behind by Elun'Ahir was in fact Un'goro crater and if you look at the map the locations are close enough that the world tree roots could have feasibly reached into Khaz'Algar.
Could still be reused for Midnight though as a possible major patch or even x.5 zone. The area is also very close to Sargeras' sword so maybe he stabbed something that had been growing in the rootlands, Il'gynoth round three?
