yes, essentially you need distractions so you aren't feeling down 24/7.
however, my first solution was an imaginary one. I created a mental drawer and imagined my emotional dread as a ball, like a gachapon, that I'd put inside the drawer.
sometimes it spills out of it and I put it back.
these two tricks made me way less depressed. try it.
