Gen 5 is extremely hit or miss. For every pokemon in it that I love like Galvantula, there's a pokemon like Basculin. It delivers some of my favorites like Beartic and Litwick, but it also has Sawk and Vanillish.

You cannot talk about gen 5's designs without cherrypicking. They're all bad or great, very few inbetween. That's still better than gen 8 and 9 being all bad though.
