It was always going to be a hard sell, not because of the whole "ownership" thing, but because it's inconvenient working with this halfsies shit. People might have long since accepted the digital future and have proven they're more than willing to buy digital products over physical, but they're never going to accept a physical product that explicitly makes it known that you need to download and install it to another storage device.
