There are six rangers, though Kanako only has the figures for the main trio of Red, Green and Blue. Kanako and Cole are forced to, at Kanako's extreme embarrassment but secret delight, become Magenta Ranger and Yellow Ranger specifically. Axis stoically refuses any attempt to transform into the Cyan Ranger, stating he is a robot.
Kanako talks about the show to Cole a couple times, mentioning her father really not liking it and always having something negative to say about it when it came on TV, leading to her belief that it must be dumb kiddie stuff.
At the climax of the story, when the protagonists are stuck in a bind unable to attack the newly upgraded Toster due to the threat of hurting the hostaged Chujin, he reveals his trump card, and with a piece of tech hidden on his person transforms into the Cyan Ranger, summons his motorbike and escapes, shouting at his fellow "Keyrangers" to get to their vehicles.
Chujin does not secretly love Rescue Rangers RGB, he truly does hate it. Even before Kanako's birth, however, he was a hardcore fan of Keyranger, the original show of which Rescue Rangers is a modernized bastardization. Reusing fight footage from the original show but shooting new footage depicting the rangers as 20XX high school students and changing the Red Ranger to be a human, it is an unforgivable corruption of what Chujin loved.
At Chujin's direction the RGB vehicles and Axis combine into a mech to fight Megatoster (probably a better name for that). The CYM rangers provide support, spending TP to give Axis buffs or weapons between combat rounds reprising the gameplay of Axis fighting Toster on the tram.
Back in the light world, convinced the whole adventure was a dream, Chujin gets deja vu when Kanako asks him what Keyranger is. He reveals he has the entire series on Laserdisc and offers to watch it with her.
