Ikoria somehow managed to be more shallow and patronizing than the childrens' version of the franchise they were ripping off.
A game aimed at 12-year olds was willing to point out that not everyone trusted the riders going around saying the flying death machines were friendly, and that their opponents had good arguments as to why. Meanwhile in Ikoria the bonders are just treated as in the absolute right with strawman opposition. Almost like they're afraid to even attempt a story with any sort of nuance.
WotC literally treats its audience of middle-aged players like bigger children than Capcom treats literal children.
