What has me fatigued isn't the genre, it's how nobody, apparently not even Miyazaki, understands it. Resulting in the meaning of souls gradually changing from

Normalfags see the environment actively impeding combat, enemies ganking you, enemies chasing you to the end of the map, arduous boss runbacks, poor visibility, slow healing, and especially nuanced character control they throw a tantrum, they see those as flaws that need to be ironed out. So now the burden of maintaining difficulty has been placed on enemies alone. The result? Every game needs to be picrel.
