I somewhat agree with you but I'm conflicted, because making all side quests non-missable means you miss out on having more varied side quests that are meant to take place during a specific moment.
Think about how Persona 5 characters mostly stagnate during the main plot because their characters development happens during their social links(I haven't played 3 or 4 so I'm not sure it they did it differently). Yeah for QoL reasons you wanna be able to do the SLs at any time, but the character writing suffers because of it.
(FYI I did play P2 and thought the writing was significantly better)
