If it's appearance is what you don't like there are dozens of cases you can put it in, as well as consolized versions like the Multisystem 2.

There's also boards to convert it into an ITX board to use in any standard PC ITX case or into a Jamma board to use in any Jamma-compatible arcade cabinet.

What's with everyone thinking that you can only build it as a small rectangular box?
