What is the actual skinny on the Eagle Yote or similar Firstspear/AWS 50649 packs? Are they good?

I'm looking for something to wear over Alice/LBE without a buttpack, basically for a Tarp, Atom, Nods with skullcap, Notetaking gear, rifle cleaning gear, phone wallet keys. I like the yote not because I could carry a helmet but because I could stuff a fairly large goretex jacket or a poncho liner
