Pic related is the problem with Steam, it doesn't have organic marketing pushing games to people who might enjoy them, the only time you're getting attention is because of external marketing events or steamfes which is very nice however not enough to justify the 30% cut they take. If Steam was also doing marketing for us then sure I wouldn't mind the cut because it essentially does what a publisher is supposed to do but right now it's just not.
