Satellites are much smaller than you think. They look big on graphics showing them in orbit, but that's because otherwise you wouldn't see anything.
Imagine the surface of the world and how easy it is to miss the next highway exit. Then imagine it's bigger, because that's LEO.
Sure, some will collide by accident because it's only 90 minutes per orbit in LEO, but it's mostly a problem when crossing with polar orbits.
The reason GEO is worth doing lewdsats is because its usable space is just a thin ring, so even if they aren't moving fast relative to each other, collisions are still a problem, and you need to keep it clean when you can.
