No way, too much reverb over breathy held notes, its boring, yet fails to even be background music because of the blasts demanding your attention. This band is also dumb enough to have a shreddy solo in the first track just in case you almost felt some sort of atmosphere.

All "atmospheric" music is merely a push toward ambience, why do you think ambient pieces are thrown into the beginning of an album to set the atmosphere of the album? Atmosphere = ambient.
Varg would have benefited immensely from the removal of all drums on his albums as proven by the video I posted before. "Trancelike" conditions are just repetitions, why do you think he put a 25 minute long repetition of a single synth phrase on Filosofem? Blast beats are obnoxious noise that are antithetical to atmosphere and ambience.
