I think the best route for Gaku would be one where we see his childcare skills in action. The SDU finding Valla-garzo's son and Gaku more or less taking him under his wing but whining about it the whole time and Valla-garzo's son initially being very cold and beating him up until they warm up to eachother. A little like Nozomi and Kamyuhn in KG
