Have you tried not consuming Japanese media? This is all you're going to get. Most anime/manga is explicitly designed for the audience to project themselves onto the character as a self-insert. That's why most manga/anime suck.

Because for the Japanese, if someone just broke the tropes and conventions and made a better story, it'd be seen as spitting in the faces of their "seniors", the extant big-name manga authors responsible for churning out the same stagnant shonenslop for 40 years. Japan's culture fetishizes nepotism and brown-nosing; it's just not okay to show up your "seniors" until they're completely out of the picture. So people pay lip service to them by including the same tired ass tropes. When you see a shonen manga pull the "twist reveal" that the MC is actually the chosen one descended from a special bloodline, it's because the mangaka in question doesn't want to be seen as stepping on anyone's toes and thus made into a social pariah.
For /a/bominations, it's a combination of making shonen manga into core parts of their identity so that any criticism of it becomes a criticism of themselves personally, and also just being aggressively autistic and fearful of change.
