Now I'm imagining Mr. Ketsukane being centuries old because of boss monster genes and simply never telling Chujin about it, let alone telling him "hey, hold off on having a kid until you've accomplished what you want." Maybe he hid it on purpose for some obscure reason. A Chujin who knew and took advantage of being a boss monster, who used the centuries laying ahead of him to really learn his craft and perfect Axis instead of rushing through, would be an entirely different character and have a massively different impact on the setting.
New headcanon: Chujin and Ceroba had an unplanned teenage pregnancy and Chujin's father withered away in a matter of months due to stacked soul drain. Chujin's aging never halted because of how young he had a child, so he didn't suspect his genes until he started his SOUL experimentation.
