The Duel Mechanic is there for two reasons

1. You want to hold up a super dangerous hero for a period while smshing their army. You can do this by using the defensive tactics to reduce damage.

Or

2. You want to kill the hero quickly to devastate the enemy morale. This can be done with duelling abilities, especially tje Chaos one who can sometikes do 7 damage in 2 hits which is ludicrous.

The only real thing you need to watch out for is if the enemy dies their "super" duel move, where by you should use your silence or stun skill, which 99% of heroes have.

A mechanic mentioned in the book is, once morale reaches 50% or below, the accuracy of the unit begins to rapidly deteriorate.

Yeah, I found the Empire campaign the weakest of the three. However, since it is single player, you can afford to goof around a bit. I let the Chaos come to the castle and fought within the spirit of the scenario.

Gunther and the Hammerers were god tier holding the walls.
