I feel that it's the only non self insert one he did and that's because of one major thing: Trixie's mom/Tamers own mom.

He wrote a character who we never get to see, never got a name, but was then not given some big joke or humorous moment. Just a single tender moment with a line that really did kinda go in the face of a series where her words feel out of place since they are so kind and warm. Even for her involvement of the film beyond her scene, Mary just wants their mom back but is very aware their mom would hate coming back that way. She's so strange
